Ant Trouble For Rye Resident’s Rent Property

Ant-Man could be your favourite marvel character, but real ants probably are not. Ant trouble has been something haunting many Australian residents for a long time and probably will continue to.

A new Client in Rye identified ant issues when they took back possession of their property. They had put it up for rent to tenants for five years.

Investigations revealed sandy soil, numerous access points and internal activity areas. This also includes a power-point in the downstairs bedroom that their son was using.

Externally, our plan was to form a barrier with treatment to building, paths and garden beds. Whilst internally we protected the cornices, doorways and windows with a non-repellent insecticide. We utilised baits in high activity areas including behind power points with the intent that the ants would take this back to the nest.

The sandy soil provides an ideal nesting environment but the extensive gardens made identifying potential nests difficult. Although several were found and treated accordingly, hence the barrier provided the best long term protection for the property.

The client seemed impressed with the quick work we made of their issue. They felt relieved about the diminished ant trouble and appreciated our efforts verbally. When our clients are happy, we’re happy.
