Ant Nests Are Not Always An Easy Find

In the wide world of pests, the smallest but no doubt ever-present contenders are the ants. We have all heard of nests and breeding zones, but have you heard of ant nests? Yes, it’s true! Ant nests are the source of all your tiny pest problems and can be tough to find in some cases.

Our technician was called to a house in Glenroy where ants had taken over a pot plant in a bedroom.

Ants are considered a pest when they nest in and around buildings as they have the potential to spread disease. In an ideal situation, we would find the nest and treat that directly but in this case, after a thorough internal and external inspection, we were unable to locate the nest.

In this situation, our technician used bait with the intention for these ants to return the bait to the nest which would kill the nest. This also meant setting up a later time with the client for another inspection. The purpose of the follow-up would be to analyze the results of the baiting program.
