Mice Take Over In Empty Endeavour Hills Home

An empty home opens up the possibilities of squatters. Although human squatters do not happen too often, pest infestation is quite possible. A mouse infestation is probably the most common of the lot. We came across many cases with ‘squatting’ being the central issue.

We were recently called to a home in Endeavour Hills where the owner alerted us to mouse activity in her kitchen.

Due to the Covid situation she had moved her family into her mother’s home to provide her mum with some support during the lockdowns. This meant that they had left their home unoccupied for a significant period of time. This allowed the mice to take over and based on the photos, they were having a great time. After setting up our instruments, we quickly started to inspect the site.

We found activity throughout the home, in the ceiling void and in the subfloor. We implemented a control program including hygiene concerns that required some addressing.

Mice, similar to humans, look for safe harbourage for their family and a constant food supply. Whilst we can bait them we often work with our clients to ensure that we eliminate any potential food sources by our control programs.
